These are part of a series of plane concepts I had done, just for the sake of seeing whether or not i could do them, and like any fun project they began to develop into a bit more. The first idea was just for fun I wanted to see what a plane in that configuration would look like. I wanted to do a futuristic stunt plane. The idea came from watching a documentary on space planes that were able to control a free fall by adjustable wings (amazing in a totally nerdy sense). So that was the birth of the idea, that arial acrobatic pilots in the near future could perform the impossibly looking stunts with complete control.
Artistically I thought the first one turned out pretty well, I really made sure to hammer out the perspectives and to get a bit of texture.
For the second one, I wanted to push the lighting a bit more. There is more to be pushed, so I will come back to it again when my eyes have rested, but I do like the way it's turning out, and I'm real happy with the abstract viper decal logo. It's always fun to do some Graphic Design to make a piece more believable.

Recently finished this up. There are a few more things i want to toy around with, like a colored backlight just to see what happens, but so far i like where this has gone. Started with a sketch, then into illustrator, and finally photoshop. Good fun.

This was a random illustration I did for a buddy, this is not really being animated to my knowledge, it just reminded me of a cell when i finished.

Ahhh yes, my good ol co-worker from EA. Ben, the master of cuteness. Poor guy had to draw the cutest princess outfits for weeks. I've never seen one man tackle some much cuteness (not that cuteness is a unmanly thing... just sayin...geeze...)

This was a blast from the past from me. Did this years ago... and I was like, traditional? Brush? paper? God?

It had been a long time since I've just sat down to sketch. Met up with a buddy and we just drew. It was great. The little boy was halarious. He kept pumping the tea squisher thinger majigger up and down, laughing histarically while doing it. This was great for the first minute, but the novelty wore off especially when he started scream laughing histarically, which was just a bit obnoxious, but hey, if I were his age, i'd be having a freakin blast too ;D

here are some doodles over the past few months... man it has been a while. Feels good to be doodling whatever in teh sketchbook again.

Working on reworking some old projects that I had fun with, but I think I can have an even greater time with now. This has to do with a sea beast that is used by a civilization to migrate to warmer climates.

A few weeks ago I went camping with some friends up in MENDOCINO COUNTY. Beautiful place with a quaint little town. I was able to steal away while everybody napped on saturday to do some doodles. It was a great experience. Last year I also did a painting, but gave it to the hostess. I highly reccomend this area to just relax. If you do have money to burn or just want to get away somewhere there are a lot of bed and breakfast type places around there. If you do go, I highly recommend the chocolate shop in Mendocino Town, and not the one in Fort Brag. Oh and abalone diving is awesome out there.

drones and worlds, just trying out some new techniques and ideas. Thus far it has been fun and interesting. Just by rotating the thumbs i get a completely different scene and landscape. I will be painting a few of these to see what I get.

So these are some ideas running through my head of redesigning certain super heroes. It's a fun little test to build another folio for a company. These are just busts, but for wolverine I was thinking that since he uses mostly his blades fro fighting he would have an extremely muscular and large upper body, and for his face because it is undetermined just how old he is, he would appear older in the eyes, more wrinkles to show the struggles and the hard times he's faced.
Flash, smooth, arrow dynamic like a shark. I added goggles, cause it always bothered me that he ran so fast that i figured his eyes would dry out, or bugs may splat in his eyes, and it also helps with wind drag.
Spider woman, i'm not sure yet, just wanted to try a woman and spider woman I always thought was interesting being one of the first jet black haired women, but still working on these ideas. more to come.

here's my idea of a mad scientist that uses his nose to fullfill his mad plans. This is a work in progress and I hope to emphasize more on the fact that he uses his nose for his science.

You know how there's those days where you just want to do this. It just feels good to give a fat little gopher a good squishin now and then :)

Some new images. Fully painted the plane to the best of my ability and now i'm thinking i'm gonna paint up some of the other planes. These were really fun to do. I can see why scott robertson enjoys vehicles so much.
